Monolithic Insulating Joint (MIJ) is used for keeping the cathodic protection current at cathodic protection side of the pipeline. To keep the cathodic protection facility works with the highest performance and lowest operation cost the MIJ should have a very good insulating capability so that the affect of out side current can be prevented and decrease the loss of cathodic current as well as withstand   the   sudden   accident   and   environmental affect.

Patented sealing system of Nuovagiungas Insulating Joint

All insulating joints produced for this project all adopt U type sealing system. This U type sealing system is constructed by two symmetric U shape sealing ring which has two profiles. The sealing ring   is   assembled   with   the   rigid   insulating   ring   together.   Then   the   assembled   sealing   system   is pressed into the reserved room between two flanges to get the best sealing performance. This U type sealing system is especially designed for the insulating joints. This system is usually called “ DSGS” which is dual sealing gasket system.

Features:

■ No need to machine precisely and/or special allowance

■Two   symmetric   flanges,   insulating   gasket   and   sealing   sealing    parts   construct   the   whole insulation-sealing system.

■ Symmetric system

■ Larger cross section sealing parts can bear series shape shifting produced by the pressure

■ The leak fluid has to pass a very long route before leakage because of the larger cross section

■ To the sealing system all sealing parts are packed entirely

■ No shape shifting under the sudden pressure drop

■ No shape shifting   under over high   pressure   because a suitable   position   reserved   inside   of the sealing system

■   With   the   increasing   of   the    pipeline   pressure   the   sealing   system    produces   an   average counter-power to insure the sealing system bearing a balance stress.

■ Pressure cycle does not affect the sealing system

This U type sealing system was applied to the high pressure insulating joints whose pressure was exceed 1000 bar at the very beginning. We tested and experimented the sealing system and at last confirm the excellent sealing performance. Then the U type sealing system was applied to all our insulating joints including the standard products. Where there is a will there is a way. Our products have been accepted, applied and got a reputation all over the world. Large capital investment to this sealing system during development makes us get a huge economic benefits and very good pay back from market.
